Krystian is a freelance writer and editor who teaches courses on Food Culture and History to pay the rent. Polish by birthright but transient by inclination he is currently living in Chicago with dreams of escaping to the Pacific Northwest.

A COLLECTION OF TAILORED SMARTWEAR

So many of you are wondering what this is about.
And I'm grateful for your curiosity. Before I reveal more, I want to start sharing with you WHO this is about. Honestly, it's about you, me, and everyone we want to know. It's a COLLABORATION. That means this project will only go as far as YOU are willing to take it. And I will be there to push.

To start, I have requested the help of some pretty darn Smart Kids to help me with this project. They are our first Guest Editors. You see, Just Another Smart Kid will work a little different from other magazines. Here's what I mean:

Guest Editors will curate the magazine. Editors will be students, professionals, artists, architects, writers, avid readers and so on. They will create a theme. Send out a call for work. They will select the work, do some writing, and invite those they admire to participate.

In the upcoming days you will get to know all three of them. Above is our first Kid.

In times of overwhelming information and stimuli, we can experience rare moments of clarity about ourselves and our surroundings. Force of emotion. Consciousness of self. Awareness of place. Within this new lucidity, our vision focuses on a detail that was often a blur, when outwardly mundane contextual particles may realign to offer, suddenly, insight into our being. Although these moments are shared by us all, each is as unique as our identity and existence, shaped within the boundaries of experience and memory. They are precious on their own, but what if we were to exchange, interchange and combine them?

Just Another Smart Kid is seeking words or images, personal visual records that express the notion of awakening within the torrent of the modern world.
